Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement issued at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us
- To rent a vehicle, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with specific age restrictions applicable to certain vehicle types. Those under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of address. Payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, in addition to any requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Deal location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance and security deposit typically required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection of the car and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and must be signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same state as it was received, allowing for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and appropriate charges will be applied. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as it was provided; refueling fees will be incurred if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional fees, so please contact us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental period, along with a corresponding administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance coverage. Details regarding full coverage and applicable excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to further limit your financial exposure. It is advisable to review these options carefully. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless covered by additional insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms falls under your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky pursuits is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, the vehicle should not be used beyond its intended purpose, exceed passenger or weight limits, or be operated outside designated geographical boundaries without prior consent.
Breach of terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the amount you paid for the rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liabilities arising from negligence leading to death or personal injury, or cases of fraud.
Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
